Marcus and Miguel qualify for Regionals!

Marcus and Miguel defeated Chancellor 6-3 6-1 in the Semi-Finals today and met up with Easternview in the Finals where they lost 6-1 6-1.

Remember practice Thursday and Friday 3:15-5:00 and Monday we leave at 8:15am to go to Loudon County HS.

Boy's fall in Conference Finals

The boy's put up a tough fight but fell 5-1 to host Easternview.  Three of the matches went to 3 sets with Zach posting the only win of the match.  We will travel to Loudon HS on Monday, May 26 (Memorial Day).  we will leave Courtland at 8:15 to play at 11:00.

Results:

Marcus forced to withdrawl from Semi-Finals

Marcus advanced to the Semi-Finals with a 6-2 6-2 victory over Faquier's #1 and in the Semi-Finals matched up against King George's #1.  He lost the first set 6-1 but won the second set 6-2 but began to cramp in the final game of that set.  With the 10 minute break he tried to get back out but his leg cramping forced him to withdrawal with a score of 1-2 in the third.  We will travel to Easternview to resume our match Tuesday and Marcus and Miguel will compete in doubles on Wednesday.

Conference Finals rescheduled

We will resume the match next Tuesday, May 20 at Easternview @ 3:00.  We will leave again around 1:15 so you will be dismissed at 1:00.  Make sure everyone knows!!!

Rain stops Conference Final

The rain came to stop the match in Easterview this afternoon.  Easterview was leading 2-0 with 4 matches yet to be determined.  We won the 1st set in all 4 of those matches.  At this point I am waiting to hear when we will resume the match so stay tuned and in the meantime make sure you hit the courts a couple time before next Tuesday.  Please be sure to refer to the schedule below as I will update that as well as post any new information.

Boy's advance to Conference Finals!

The Boy's defeated Faquier 5-2 for a birth in the Conference Finals tomorrow at Easternview.  We will leave at 1:15 to play at 3:00

Singles:

Conference Semi-Final Match

We will be playing Faquier at approximately 4:00 or when they are ready today.  Meet at the courts by 3:00 as I said yesterday.

If we win you will be dismissed at 1:00 pm Thursday to play at Easternview. Start time 3:00.  We may stop to eat depending on the time.

I will talk to those that will be involved in the single/doubles tournament on May 19th and 21st

Important Information

Please make sure everyone knows what is going on for tomorrow!!!!  Pass the word!  

Liberty and Faquier did not get their match in today and will be playing tomorrow. That means we will be practicing.  However, since the girls have their match the courts at Courtland will be unavaliable.  Top 7 need to meet at the Courtland courts at 3:15 and we will see about practicing at Fox Point.

Our match is now scheduled for Wednesday at Courtland.  Approximate start time will be 3:30 but that may change.  I will keep you posted as I know more.

Please make sure everyone is aware that only the top 7 will meet tomorrow to practice and our match is Wednesday.

Cougars win their final match of the regular season

The Boy's defeated Chancellor 6-3 to finish the regular season (12-3 overall)(8-2 in the conference).  The Boy's earned a bye in the first round of the Conference Team tournament that begins Monday, May 12 and will host the winner of Monday's match on Tuesday, May 13.

Singles:

1. Marcus  won 10-6

2. Miguel won 10-4

3. Lyle lost 10-3

4. Cole won 10-7

5  Zach won 10-7

6. Hunter won 10-0

The Boy's improved to (10-4) (8-2) by defeating Spotsylvania 9-0.

Boy's fall in a close match on Senior Night

A tough match on Senior Night sees the Cougars fall to Caroline 5-4.  The Cougars are now 9-4 overall but remain 7-2 in Conference play with one final match against Chancellor.  If they can beat Chancellor they will secure the #2 seed in the Conference and earn a bye in the first round of the tournament that will start the week of May 12.  One of the highlights tonight was at #3 doubles where Zach and Aaron were trailing 9-6 but came back to win in a tie breaker!!
