Another succesful season comes to a close.

A great day of tennis at Jamestown High School today!!!

Ben defeated Powhatan's # 1 6-3 6-2 in the opening round. He lost a tough match to Tabb's #1 6-2 6-1.

In doubles Ben and Alex drew Jamestown's #2 doubles team and lost 6-0 6-1. There were many games that went to deuce and the quality of tennis was great!!

Don't forget about the awards banquet on June 3 @ 6:00pm!! See everyone there!!!

Lost sunglasses at Poquoson

If you lost a pair of Sunglasses while at the Poquoson match let Alex, Ben or myself know as we may see the Poquoson coach tomorrow at Regionals!!!

Regional Schedule

Those going to Regionals will leave around 4:30 Tuesday.

9:00 am Wednesday - Ben plays SS #1 if he wins plays

11:30 am Wednesday - if he wins plays in finals Thursday at 9:00 am

2:00 pm Ben and Alex play doubles against Bary River #2 if they win play Thursday at 11:30am

Awards Banquet

The Spring Awards banquet will be held on June 3rd at 6:00 PM. I hope everyone will be able to make it!

Cougars fall to Poquoson in Regionals

The boy's lost a hard fought 5-1 match at Poquoson.

Ben lost 6-3 6-1
Alex lost 6-1 6-1
Andrew won 6-3 6-2
Tevin lost 3-6 6-3 6-3
Chase lost 5-7 6-3 7-5
Scott lost 7-5 6-1

The team finished the season with a 15-4 record!! Nice season guys!!!

Ben will compete in the regional singles tournament and Ben and Alex will compete in the regional doubles tournament on Wednesday, May 27.

Ben and Alex qualify for Regionals as the #2 seed!!

Congratulations to Ben and Alex for winning in the first round yesterday over Chancellor 6-3 6-1. Very impressive! They also played well against JM!!! Thanks again to Greg who came to cheer them on!

Regionals update!!

It is confirmed... We will play Poquoson on Tuesday at 4:00. We will leave Courtland at 1:00. Bring a pillow, snacks, drinks, Ipod or something to do on the bus for 2+ hours. We will stop to eat on the way back (Chase is happy!!) and the estimated time of arrival back to Courtland will be between 9:00 and 10:00 depending on the length of the match. See you Monday for practice.

Ben qualifies for Regional Tournament!

Ben lost a hard fought 3 set match against Chancellor in the semi finals but rebounded to beat Easternview to qualify for the Regional Tournament. Thanks to Alex and Greg for cheering him on.

TEAM REGIONAL INFORMATION!!!

We will play Poquoson on Tuesday, May 19 at Poquoson. We will be traveling by school bus and the trip will be a little over 2 hours. Once I know specifically when we will leave I'll post it here so keep checking the blog!! It will be a late return to Courtland say 9:30 or so... If you have any questions or concerns let me know immediatley!!

Tough loss in the Finals

The Boy's put up a tremendous fight in the District Finals today. Four of the six matches went to 3 sets. Stay posted to the blog to find out how Ben does in singles and how Ben and Alex do in doubles. Also, once I get information about our opening round in Regionals I'll post it here. Great job guys!!!!

District Finals

The District finals will be held at Mary Washington University courts and will start at 4:00. We will be playing James Monroe. We will leave Courtland at 2:45. Please meet in the commons at 2:30. See you then!

The Courtland Boy's Tennis team defeated Chancellor 5-2 to improve to (15-2) (8-2) and advance to the District Finals. Most likely we will be playing JM in the Finals.

Practice for today (May 11) is cancelled due to rain. Tomorrow's District Semi-Finals will be at Courtland against Chancellor. The format will be best two out of three sets and the start time is 3:30. Everyone needs to be thereby 2:45!

Courtland ends the Regular Season with a win!

The Courtland Boy's Tennis team defeated King George 8-0 to close out the regular season and improve to (14-2) (10-2).

King George Makeup

The match will be made up tomorrow (Wednesday, May 6). Here is the issue though. First I know Alex and Ryan are unable to make it because of band. Second, because there is no bus available until 4:30 we will not be leaving after school. I need everyone to meet at Courtland at 4:15 by the tennis courts. We will watch the girl's match until the bus comes. We will be playing shortened matches so we do not run out of daylight. Most likely 8 game or 6 game pro sets. Since Alex will not be able to make it the lineup will be as follows:
